National Debtline

Also known as: National Debtline; Money Advice Trust

National Debtline is a free debt advice service operated by the Money Advice Trust, a registered charity. It provides free, confidential and impartial advice to people in England, Wales and Scotland who are struggling with debt.

National Debtline's advisers are trained debt counsellors. They can help you understand your debts, work out a budget, and explore your options — which may include payment plans, Debt Relief Orders, Individual Voluntary Arrangements or other solutions. Advice is available by phone on 0808 808 4000 (Monday to Friday 9am–8pm, Saturday 9.30am–1pm) and through their website and online debt tool.

National Debtline is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 618621) to provide debt advice. Its services are entirely free to the people who use them. It also runs Business Debtline for small businesses and self-employed people.

If you have been contacted by a debt collector or are struggling with any debt — credit card, loan, rent arrears, utility debt, or any other type — National Debtline can help you understand your options without any charge.
