Go to Settings in your Ask Fin account and follow the cancellation steps. The process takes under a minute. If you have any difficulty, email help@askfin.co.uk and we will cancel it for you.

What happens to my data if I cancel?+

Most Ask Fin tool data is stored in your browser only and is not held on our servers. If you delete your account, any server-side data we hold (such as your email address and subscription history) is removed in line with our privacy policy. See the Data Rights page for full details.

Can I get a refund?+

Please see our Subscription and Cancellation Policy for details on refunds. If you have a specific concern, contact help@askfin.co.uk.

The tools

Where should I start?+

Start with My Monthly Budget to get a clear picture of your income and outgoings. Or run the Money Finder scan if you want a quick check for possible savings, benefits and income opportunities. Both take under ten minutes.

Do I need to use all fourteen tools?+

No. Start with the tool that feels most useful and explore from there. Some users focus on one or two tools. Others work through the full set. All fourteen are included in your subscription either way.

How does the UK Benefits Checker work?+

The Benefits Checker is an educational tool that helps you explore which benefit areas you may be eligible for based on your circumstances. It does not calculate exact entitlements or make applications. Always confirm eligibility with the relevant official body or a benefits adviser.

Is the debt tool regulated debt advice?+

No. The High Impact Debt Reduction tool shows you educational comparisons of debt repayment approaches (such as snowball and avalanche methods). It does not provide regulated debt advice. For serious debt issues — including missed payments, court action or payday loans — please contact a free qualified service such as StepChange, National Debtline or Citizens Advice.

How does the Ask Fin AI companion work?+

The Ask Fin companion uses Anthropic Claude to give general guidance on money topics based on what you share. It does not have access to your bank account and does not provide regulated financial advice. Responses are for general educational purposes only.

Data and privacy

Is my financial data safe?+

Most tool data — such as your budget figures — is stored in your browser only and is never sent to our servers. AI companion messages are processed via Anthropic. We do not sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does Ask Fin connect to my bank?+

Not currently. Ask Fin does not require open banking or direct bank access. You enter figures manually, which means your banking credentials are never shared with us.

How do you use cookies?+

We use essential cookies to keep the site working and, with your consent, analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy for full details.
